Laudemio-Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi              500ml

            Clear, intensely green, this filtered Tuscan has a fruity, well-rounded and spicy taste, reminiscent of fresh olives; aroma has hints of artichoke and pepper. Using  Frantoio, Moraiolo,  and Leccino  olive varieties, the Frescobaldi family  has produced olive oils  and wines since the Middle Ages, and this oil was awarded Outstanding Olive Oil at the 2001  New York Fancy Food Show, and rated #1  Tuscan oil in 1997 by Wine Spectator.. Estate produced from the hills of Chianti Ruffina

 

Frantoio di Sommaia                                       750ml

            The Martini Bernardi family has their Appenine grown varietal olives hand-picked, crushed in a stone press, and bottled with their distinctive family vermouth label. Unfiltered, with a deep green color, big olive aroma and artichoke flavor highlights, this is a complex and pungent oil with a rich and buttery mouth feel.

Sicily

 

Olio Verde                                                      500ml

            Hand-picked at an early green stage, spring irrigated 300 year old olive trees, unfiltered and naturally clarified in terracotta amphorae: this is an outstanding olive oil.

Gianfranco Becchina’s estate in Sicily produces this intense, full flavor oil,

redolent of fresh-cut grass with a fresh green olive liveliness, from 100% Nocellara del Belize variety olives. The chlorophyll suspended in the minute particles of sediment act as a natural preservative. Fancy Food Show Gold Winner, 1998. 

Liguria

 

Ceppo Antico                                                  500ml

            First recognized for superior quality at the Genoa Exposition of 1914, the Marco family of the Ligurian Coast is no newcomer to fine olive oil. Filtered, and from Rignola, Colombara, and Taggiasca olive varieties, this oil is golden clear yellow with a light floral nose and a smooth, sweet flavor hinting of almonds.

            Aprutium is the original Latin for this growing region: Abruzzo. Produced from Gentile, Leccino Cornaiola, Dritta, and Cucca olive varieties, this oil is a transparent yellow gold with a warm olive aroma; delicate, sweet, and fruity; harmonious flavor with a refined and sophisticated mouth feel.

This special release has a transparent bright yellow color, a deep olive scent, and a very fruity flavor with overtones of apple and almond. Produced in the Priego de Cordoba control region, this oil is cold pressed from 100% picuda olive variety.
