Customer of the Month February 2020 – Dolce Vita in Anguilla

On Valentine’s Day 2020, Dolce Vita will celebrate 9 years in business. Owners Abbi Ibrahim & Christopher Bacchiega met in Mantova Italy and each brought their experience in the restaurant business to Anguilla to open Dolce Vita, a fine dining “experience” located on the sandy beach in Sandy Ground, Anguilla. Abbi is an experienced International restauranteur and a certified Sommelier while Chris blends his Italian heritage with real work experience in Italy to create Italian cuisine at its best. When asked why opening this business was his passion, Abbi states “The love of great food and Anguilla was the perfect combination. We are more than a restaurant; an evening with us is an experience.”

Both locals and tourists frequent this restaurant. In season, it is hart to get a reservation, a testament to all they are doing right! Consistency, quality of food and impeccable service is why they stand out from the rest.

Their menu includes homemade pasta dishes such as Gnocchi Al Pomodoro e Basilico (daily made potato gnocchi in a special tomato sauce), Pappardelle con Salsiccia e Funghi e Panna (Espresso Pappardelle with homemade sausages & mushrooms in a cream sauce), and Rigatoni Corti con Polipo e Bacon (short rigatoni w/octopus & bacon in a tomato sauce). But perhaps, homemade pasta is not your craving tonight….so let’s try one of their pesce dishes such as Branzino ala Griglia (whole fresh Mediterranean Sea Bass grilled to perfection and drizzled with balsamic & EVOO).   Not a seafood lover, then try one of the delicious carni dinners such as the Ribeye Grigliato, a grilled black angus 12 oz ribeye aged for 30 days and served on a hot stone with a variety of salts, pink Himalayan, celery & black lava.  But it’s not just the entrees….it is the starters, desserts, and full bar including perfectly paired wines that will have you coming back time and again.

As we all know, the beautiful island of Anguilla was hit with Hurricane Irma in September 2017. Dolce Vita experienced a complete loss and had to “start all over again.” Abbi states, “We rebuilt…bigger, stronger, and happier!”
